Conference:
“What
is an Artwork?”
Sunday
15th June, 7.30pm
Calman
Learning Centre
Admission
Free
As
the boundaries that define art are constantly reworked and challenged
by artists working in all media, it is important to establish whether
any real definition remain, or if we have reached a state of pure
limitless expression. Our keynote lecture includes an address from
the Durham University Philosophy Department and an exclusive panel
of curators, artists, theorists and critics. We invite the public
to ask questions of the leading names in the art world and hope
to create a fertile environment for debate on a crucial question
in post-modern times.
The
Panel includes:
Katrina
Crear - Registrar of the White Cube Gallery
Gavin
Delahunty - Curator of Fine Art at MIMA
David
Jasper - Professor in Literature and Theology at the
University
of Glasgow
Ed
Baxter - Programming Director, Resonance FM
