St
Cuthbert’s Hospice is delighted to have been chosen as one of the
charities which will benefit from the first ever Durham Arts Festival.
The Hospice is a registered charity which opened in 1998, to provide
care and support for people with life limiting conditions, a well
as giving support to their families. It costs £1.6 million pounds
per year to run the services, including an In Patient Unit which
opened in 2006, and around a third of the costs are met by the Primary
Care Trust. A further one million pounds per year has to be raised
through local fundraising and events, and attending the Arts Festival
gives people the chance to enjoy themselves while supporting a local
charity.
